https://youtu.be/xShjk0Xr4-0 Since 1972, DHCC, a Pennsylvania-based non-profit organization, has served the tri-state area encompassing: Southeastern Pennsylvania, Northern Delaware, and Southern New Jersey. We are proud to offer sign language interpreting, sensitivity training, American Sign Language (ASL) classes, Real-time captioning (CART), and sign language interpreter certification maintenance programs (CMP). We serve Philadelphia, its suburbs (Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware, Chester, Philadelphia and lower Lehigh counties), and the Pennsylvania Main Line. DHCC is the best place to learn about equal communication access and advocacy! We offer a variety of services to bridge the communication gap between the Deaf, hard of hearing and hearing communities. We are honored to be the longest serving Sign Language Interpreter Referral Department in the region and the first organization to provide a 24-Hour Emergency Sign Language Interpreting Service for police and hospital emergencies. Through our Community Interpreting Program (CIP), DHCC members get discounted rates for non-ADA family and social events, such as weddings, family reunions, and baby showers. Our services include:

  • Information and Referral

  • Education – American Sign Language Classes

  • Advocacy – for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals. Know your rights!

  • Sign Language Interpreting

Our sign language interpreters are certified professionals who are thoroughly screened prior to working with our customers. Our interpreters have worked with prestigious individuals including: Mayor Michael Nutter, Governor Ed Rendell, President Barack Obama, Vice-President Joseph Biden, Former President Bill Clinton, Former President George H. Bush, Lisa Thomas Laurie, The Indigo Girls, Robin Williams, U2’s Bono, Maya Angelou, and well-known Deaf performer, Trix Bruce.
