Virtual Deaf Sensitivity Training

About the event

DHCC’s Deaf Sensitivity Training is an interactive learning experience designed to help participants better understand Deaf culture, the lived experiences of Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard of hearing individuals, and the importance of accessible communication.

Throughout the training, participants will explore practical communication strategies, accessibility and ADA considerations, common barriers to effective communication, and accommodations such as ASL interpreters, CART, and assistive technologies. The goal is to provide useful knowledge and tools that participants can apply in their workplaces, schools, organizations, and everyday interactions.

Creating truly inclusive environments starts with awareness and understanding. Whether you work in healthcare, education, customer service, business, social services, or simply want to become a more informed community member, this training can help you communicate more respectfully and confidently while supporting greater access for Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard of hearing individuals.

Join us to build awareness, strengthen communication, and help create more accessible and inclusive communities.
