DHCC's Mentorship program
Mentorship Program: DHCC’s mentorship program is their latest initiative to bring together families with Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing children and young adults with the aim of strengthening their community access and providing resources when needed. Providing mentorship through language access and sharing, education on the Deaf community and the culture they share, what it is like to grow up with hearing loss, as well as providing opportunity for families to socialize at events and workshops.
Work done within this mentorship program is inspired and supported by Lillian Hoshauer and her dream of bringing families with Deaf children together and into our community. The Lillian Hoshauer Memorial fund established by the family will be directed towards this mentorship program. Funds donated can be specified as such or to be used for general purposes. Thank you.
See the below images and following transcriptions for more information on how to get your family involved in the program, what benefits it may provide to you, and if you would like to be a mentor for the Deaf community.
