DHCC provides a lending library filled with various educational materials for all DHCC members. DHCC lends videotapes, DVDs and CDs. Please note: You must be a DHCC member to review a book or borrow a video or DVD or CD.

Video Rental Guidelines
DHCC videotapes are valuable resources. To protect and maintain our library, we have instituted the following guidelines. Please click here to download guidelines and rental agreement.

  • Renter must be a DHCC member to rent videotapes.
  • Renter must provide a credit card number or a check for $100 per videotape as a security deposit.
  • Rental period is for two (2) weeks.
  • No more than four (4) tapes can be borrowed at one time.
  • Videotapes can be renewed if there is no waiting list.
  • Waiting list will be created for renters who wish to reserve a particular videotape.
  • Rental fees are as follows:
    • $4.00 per videotape, due at the time of the rental.
    • $1.00 late charge per business day per videotape.
    • The maximum late fee per videotape is $100.
  • If a tape is damaged or not returned, the full charge of $100 per videotape will be processed on the credit card or the check will be deposited.

CD/DVD Rental Guidelines
DHCC compact discs (CDs) and DVDs are valuable resources. To protect and maintain our library, we have instituted the following guidelines. Please click here to download guidelines and rental agreement.

  • Renter must provide a credit card number or a check for $100 per CD/DVD as a security deposit.
  • Rental period is for two (2) weeks.
  • No more than two (2) CDs/DVDs can be borrowed at one time.
  • CDs/DVDs can be renewed if there is no waiting list.
  • Waiting list will be created for renters who wish to reserve a particular CD/DVD.

    • $5.00 per CD/DVD, due at the time of the rental.
    • $1.00 late charge per business day per CD/DVD.
    • The maximum late fee per CD/DVD is $100.
  • If a CD/DVD is damaged or not returned, the full charge of $100 per CD/DVD will be processed on the credit card or the check will be deposited.

CEUs and SWAP Program
DHCC has recently purchased professional development CDs through Signs of Development's SWAP program. SWAP stands for Share WWWorkshops Accrue Points. This method of earning CEUs and professional development is cost and time effective under any cost/benefit analysis. Every time an interpreter applies for CEUs for a CD they borrowed from DHCC, we earn points that translate into discounts on future CD purchases. Go to www.signs-of-development.org to find out more about those CDs! CEUs are available for RID and ASLTA.

  • How the program works:
    • DHCC purchases CDs.
    • DHCC rents CDs to interpreters to view.
    • Interpreters complete the necessary work and then apply for CEUs to Signs of Development.
    • Interpreters indicate that they borrowed the CD from DHCC.
  • Cost: The interpreters pay Signs of Development $6.95 per .1 CEU. Anyone who has taken a workshop knows this is about half the cost per one-hour session!
  • Get Started: Stop by DHCC and fill out the CD rental guidelines. Just $5 to rent them for 2 weeks! You will have to put down a security deposit (check, Visa or MasterCard), which will be returned upon the safe return of the CDs.
