Interpreter Referral Department (IRD)
DHCC provides interpreting services to facilitate communication for Deaf, hard of hearing and hearing people by using qualified, professional sign language interpreters. Please visit our Interpreting Services Section to find out more.

24-Hour Emergency Service
DHCC has the first and longest serving interpreting service in the Delaware Valley for medical and/or police emergencies during non-business hours. Please visit our 24-Hour Emergency section to find out more.

Community Interpreting Program (CIP)
DHCC provides ASL interpreters at a discount rate for non-ADA covered, one-time family and social events such as weddings, baby showers and reunions. The service is for DHCC members only. Please visit our Community Interpreting Program section to find out more.

Sign Language Classes
DHCC offers American Sign Language (ASL) classes through adult education programs and at contracted locations. Please visit our Sign Language Classes section to find out more.

Educational Services
DHCC offers sensitivity training and workshops on topics including American Sign Language, Deaf Culture, hard of hearing communication, coping strategies, interpreting skills and legal rights to communication access. Please visit our Education section to find out more.

Real-Time Captioning (CART)
Real-time captioning (or CART) uses qualified captioners with specialized equipment to print a word for word version of spoken language on a laptop computer, TV monitor or overhead screen. DHCC arranges this service. Please visit our Real-Time Captioning (CART) section to find out more.

Advocacy
