2009 Walk 4 Hearing
Since its formation in 2006, Walk4Hearing has raised over one million dollars for programs and services for people with hearing loss, and has grown into the largest awareness and fundraising event for the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA). Collaborating with local HLAA chapters, Walk4Hearing™ educates the general public about hearing loss while easing the associated stigma. Striving to make hearing loss a public health issue, thousands of people of all ages, races, and backgrounds have come together to display their compassion for the cause and to make hearing loss an issue of national concern.

It was a beautiful day on Saturday September 26 for two-legged and four-legged walkers. We had great turnout for our team and we reached our $2,000 fundraising goal for DHCC. HLA, the major sponsor of the walk, surpassed their goal of $50,000 and were at $68,000 at the last posting. Thanks to all the walker, donors and to Joy Harris and Mary Boas Hayes who volunteered to interpret.
